On October 25th, 2017 we held our annual UW-Madison Scholarship Dinner. This year, we were able to award scholarships to four outstanding UW-Madison students.
The night started off with a tour of the Charter Street Heating and Cooling Plan, followed by dinner, and then a presentation from our keynote speakers Katie MacDonald and Bruce Morrow from Ayres & Associates titled “Beyond Functional Design.” This was then followed by the scholarship presentation by our Scholarship Chair, Jeff Barker. Congrats to this year’s recipients and special thanks to our keynote speakers, our sponsors and the ASCE UW-Madison Student Chapter for organizing the event!
Our next event will be our scholarship dinner with the UW-Platteville students on November 30th. More information will be coming out soon!
On Saturday June 20th, our Younger Member Group meet at the UW-Madison Arboretum to help with their restoration work. The group spend the rainy morning pulling and bagging invasive garlic mustard weeds. Although it was wet and muddy, the group was successful in clearing out our portion of the Arboretum!
We had a great turn out at our May Tour of the Permeable Pavement Study over on the East side of Madison. Huge thanks to Bill Selbig of the USGS for taking the time out of his day to give us a tour on such a rainy day!
After the tour members headed over to Karben4 to dry up as well as enjoy some drinks and appetizers!
